DONCASTER ST LEGER 1791

The 16th winner of the St Leger, held on Tuesday 27th September 1791 over the 2 miles of Town Moor, was Young Traveller, a chestnut colt by King Fergus out of a dam of Young Trunnion, owned by Mr Hutchinson. A field of 8 runners contested the race, although there were 14 subscriptions of 25 guineas each, which was worth 350 Guineas. (Equivalent to £50,700 in 2017)
